Leeds, Al.
In September of 2007, Josh McDaniel transferred to the City of Leeds Fire Department where he began
to work with Chief Pierce on Fire Prevention for Leeds. In February of 2008, Barry “Si” Wright
transferred to the City of Leeds Fire Department and began to assist Josh McDaniel with Leeds Fire
Prevention. The fire prevention department now offers car seat education, smoke detector
maintenance, fire and life safety education, assisting with public events, and a “Remembering When”
course for seniors. We feel privileged to be able to provide these services for the City of Leeds and hope
to continue to improve the quality of service and programs offered by the fire prevention department.
Some Future Goals:
Purchase a Fire and Severe Weather Training Trailer to provide education for children
Begin the Risk Watch Program in the schools
Train other Firefighters to install child safety seats
