Residential Garbage Pickup
The City of Leed's residential garbage or waste management services are now managed by Waste Management (who bought out GFI Green for Life).
Residential Customers
A flyer was sent to all former GFL customers in Leeds, providing important contact information for Waste Management (WM). This flyer includes the updated customer service number that residents should now use for all Waste Management-related inquiries and issues.
If you are a residential customer living in the city limits of Leeds and have any questions about your garbage services, set up new service or need to make a change to your service, please call Waste Management, please contact them at 866-971-2260 or visit their website at https://wm.com.
If you encounter any service issues with WM and are unable to reach a resolution through their customer service, please remember to submit a complaint using the city’s online service issue form. This submission notifies both our city staff and WM’s designated contacts, officially initiating the resolution timeline for your concern. https://www.cognitoforms.com/CityOfLeeds1/HouseholdTrashServiceIssue
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure a smooth transition in waste services.
Business Customers
If you are a business customer and have waste management services from GFI, Waste Management will now be your provider. You will need to call and set up a new service for them to service your account.
The Waste Management conversion impacts ALL GFL customers as that company has exited the Birmingham market. If a business had a contract with GFL, that contract has been assigned to WM.
